FELLOWSHIP

Director's report

A big part of being a Rotarian is about providing community service but at the same time enjoying the fellowship that comes from spending time with other members.

It would be difficult to attract and retain members if they didn’t enjoy the experience. It’s always good to hear and feel the warmth of the fellowship being enjoyed at the weekly meetings. Without a doubt, a good place to be from 6 o’clock on Wednesday evenings is at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Horsham East!
Indeed several years ago the international theme of Rotary was "Enjoy Rotary”. Good fellowship continues to be a key factor in the strong growth of our Club.

The emphasis during the year was to have a mix of informative speakers but also a solid component of social nights where members were able to spend more time together and to get to know each other better. With the club bigger than ever before it is important that members have the opportunity to do this. You can see by the list of weekly activities that this was achieved.

Thank you to all members who contributed to fellowship nights in any way—be it cooking, arranging venues or refreshments, and making suggestions as to what may be a good social evening.

Also a thankyou to the members of the fellowship committee who worked cohesively as a team to make it all happen smoothly.

Fellowship can only be effective if all members participate. Horsham East Rotary Club is a diverse group of people and if fellowship and community service is our aim we have had a successful year.
I thank you all for participating.

Neil May
Director, Fellowship Committee
